made from polyester /cotton, its a rip on the bum- used for D of E w/e, they got ripped. They are Brashers! so a little expensive, n just wondered if anyone had any tips of how to mend them without traditional over sewing- because of where it is.....or just oversew, and hope it doesn't rip again?

One of those iron on meshes on the inside?

According to their web-site, Brasher recommend Lancashire Sports Repairs at lsr.gb.com.

I've used a similar service for a repair to an expensive cycling jersey, although luckily it was free.

For that sort of thing, I sew the rip together as neatly as I can with small stitches in a proper darning motion so that it's pulled together, and then iron on a patch inside for strength

CMOTDibbler, do you recommend an iron patch brand/supplier?

I use Korbond usually. Check the ironability of the trousers first on a hem or other invisible place though

Yes, try either an iron on interface on the inside as others have suggested, or you can get sticky patches for mending things like tents. Sounds weird but I used one to repair a burn mark in some outdoor furniture and worked fine.
