What to do with unusable school uniforms?

Hi
My DS has just finished reception and started in year 1. He has outgrown his uniforms from last year. They are covered in felt tip and very 'bobbly' so I can't give them to a local charity shop. I was just wondering what I should do with them? I don't want to send them to landfill. Thank you!

Give them to the school for spares. Our EYFS teachers are very grateful for any uniform and spare pants, to keep for accidents.

Ours went to a local nursery for their dressing up corner.

Charity shops also often take in clothes to be processed for rags rather than to be sold.

Was just talking with my husband about this yesterday.

We were trying to think how we could get them to schools in our home country in Africa 🤔

Agree that the school spares cupboard will not mind stains and bobbles.

Yes, either school for spares, or if really not usable rag bag and take to the tip. Charity shops will also take rags for recycling, just make sure bags are labelled as rags.

Give them to the reception teacher for class spare clothes. Our are always appealing for spare clothes. Even though every child is meant to have a spare set of clothes on their peg, the class supply of spare clothes is usually decimated by Easter.

Thank you all. I will sort out the ones that are ok (ish) for school and will take the rat to charity shop for Rags.
