Progress on Katymac's 'Eco' Nursery

Well we have had a bad week after seeing an architect - but we seem to be coming through it.

I am talking to Amazon Nails about using straw bales for externbal insulation - which is very exciting

Unfortunatley solar panels and rainwater harvesting are put on hold until funds allow - & they are relatively easy to retrofit

Marmoleum has come in far above budget but I think it's worth using anyway.

I've been told about recycled uPVC windows but I haven't found any (yet)

And the news on out highways problems is good.....a new "rule" coming in in March called "A Manual for streets" should help

There is a floorplan in my profile & I'm reasonably good at taking critisim.......any thoughts??

Quite despondant atm - None of the architects I have approached are interested. |Neither the cabin people nor the Amazon Nails people haven't got beack to me

Not quite sure yet what to do with £55K cash plus £75K potential lending if I don't open the nursery.

I'm feeling very down - I have been planning this for ages

Apparently it would work - if I had more money but even if the bank were to lend me any more - I'm not sure I can afford to borrow it (iyswim)

Good job I'm damned stubborn isn't it?

As there is all this interest in nappies & the nursery at the moment - I thought I'd add an update here

I spoke to a diversification consultant today and have got lots of new info all about
Solar Panels
Bio-fuels
Waste disposal
An architect
A builder
A grant person who will know if there are any grants around for this (unlikely)
& a company who will come & audit my systems, provide me with energy saving ideas & only charge me for their service after I have saved the money that their suggestions will save (neat idea that)

My Architect from last week hasn't been in touch (yet - I should give him more time)
& neither have the straw bale building company I have approached

So we aren't really much further on atm.
