How much did it cost to be fitted

I have found it for less than £15 psqm - but have been quoted £30 psqm for fitting

Does anyone have a better tale?

my sil has it. fitting it is v. specialised. you don't just roll it out. its pricey but lasts an age. what colour are you going for?

Katymac · 03/12/2006 18:34

I'm still working out if we can afford it

Do you know how much she paid for fitting?

sorry don't know and really wouldn't like to ask.

pesme · 03/12/2006 18:47

looks great though!

Katymac · 03/12/2006 18:55

Gorgeous - but if the fitting is that expensive then I can't afford it

I have it in my hall (with a compass pattern) and in my bathroom. I can't remember exactly how much it cost to have fitted but it did seem like a lot at the time. I have had it for five years now and still love it so IMO it was money well spent.

Katymac · 03/12/2006 19:01

Would you have remembered if it cost more to fit than to buy?

I was only ever quoted a price which inclued fitting and I think we paid about £600 for our hall, which isn't massive but isn't tiny either. I don't think I could have afforded to have it in a larger room even though I would have loved to have it in the kitchen so I can understand your dilemma.

Katymac · 03/12/2006 19:09

You see it's an eco-nursery so what things are made out of is important

But £9000 is a hell of a lot

Yes I can understand your reluctance to pay £9,000! It's so annoying when you find something that would be ideal and is just what you want but it's too expensive. I wonder if there's an eco-friendly cheaper equivalent?

Katymac · 03/12/2006 19:23

Well I'm looking - but not doing too well

OP posts:
pesme · 03/12/2006 19:29

its alot but you won't have to replace it - ever. unless the children are wearing hob nail boots and performing riverdance at constant intervals.

Katymac · 03/12/2006 19:33

ATM I am £25 over budget.........

OP posts:
Katymac · 03/12/2006 19:33

Sorry that £25K!!!! not £25

OP posts:
pesme · 03/12/2006 19:57

what about bamboo or rubber?

Katymac · 03/12/2006 20:04

ooo Rubber? I could fancy that

Do you think it will go over underfloor heating?

OP posts:
pesme · 03/12/2006 20:12

don't see why not, have a google and see.

Katymac · 03/12/2006 20:30

Yes it is compatable with underfloor heating - but I don't know how much it costs to lay yet

Damn, I hoped this was going to be a more positive thread! We've also just been quoted twice the materials price for laying marmoleum, and I can't face it. We're going to use cork instead, I think. Would that work for you?
