Kids clothes for the more environmentally conscience?

We're starting to adopt a greener lifestyle, and I was given some links for organic clothes, but nothing overly exciting for kids.

Is there anywhere you can get good kids clothes that are natural/organic/fairly traded???

I know the first step is all natural clothes, eg 100% cotton but is there anything else out there?

Ds needs a new coat - is there such a thing as an all natural one? Are next/woolies the only option? Is there a preferred high street store??

i have to say my greener option is always second-hand stuff - that way you can have whatever you like

I know what you mean though - it can seem really hard to find straightforward work/school clothes in this category. I had a look at cleanslateclothing the other day but I don't remember them doing coats.

John Lewis and M&S I would view as being generally good employers, esp the first, and to me that's another way of trading fairly.

There are a few places out there - have you tried susumama - she does some lovely winter stuff and all her clothes are fairly traded.

We do some wool coats too, if that is any help?

Check the threads about school clothes from green/fair trade suppliers, I think Clean Slate is the only one I can think of.

A company called cut4cloth do great toddler clothes ... 100% organic cotton etc... www.cut4cloth.co.uk/

Also a company called Hug do kiddies' T-shirts with funky slogans all in organic/fairtrade cotton ... www.hug.co.uk/ (they also do grownup's stuff aswell - I like their fairtrade organic denim jeans - FASHIONABLE ethical clothing, not just your usual hippy stuff!)
