Anybody using EcoBalls for washing?

I've been using Ecover liquid for a while, mainly for reusable nappies, but getting a bit fed up with its inability to remove stains in them and in the main wash. I also suspect that our drains get clogged up with the stuff quite a bit, possibly due to living in a hard water area. Are there any other better green options out there? I am open to persuasion re: EcoBalls, but I don't know anyone else who uses them... convince me!

have seen threads about ecoballs will see if I can find it for you.

yes I use ecoballs but they don't remove stains

I find myself having to spritz with Vanish stain remover when there is a stain like chocolate or tea

so probably redundant usage on eco-terms

i use them on nappies; no they don't remove stains and you need a dot of tea tree in as well

but tbh I found that fairy nonbio wasn't removing stains either before I bought them

i use a mixture of those and fairy cos of dd's eczema; they're good for some things - I use them on darks, but I don't use them on whites

I don't regret buying them

stains nope
but use ours mainly for sheets, lightly soiled items.
use vanish and fairy non bio for stained stuff

I tried them and found them useless. I resold them on eBay!

JessaJackOLantern · 04/10/2006 15:24

I use them for evrything except crappy nappies! They aren't great for stains, but try tea tree or white vinegar, or the eco-balls I got came iwth an eco-friendly stain remover...
You have to be careful not to overload the machine when you use them, about half full max, otherwise they can't move around freely enough to work.

Yes I love them!
My dd has severe excema so from the skincare POV they are much better than conventional washing powders.
I've only been using them for a month or so but I'm pretty hooked...
