My parents bought one of those years ago when they first came out. It's a clever idea, but actually making the things gets dull very fast.

It's laborious and handling cold, wet paper isn't much fun (unless you're making a papier mache monster of course). It takes quite a while to make enough of them to be worthwhile. You need a reasonably large space and a couple of dry days for them to dry out or a covered area that has good air movement. They burn-up much faster than wood and give out slightly less heat, so you need more of them than you might think.

On the plus side, they are very good for starting fires off as they catch very quickly. And the are good for the environment and money saving if you put the effort in.

If you dh really wants one then make hime guarantee to do a certain number every month or pay a forfit, then it's a win win situation for you.
