Ethical dilemmas

How far would you go?

Not really sure if I'm in the right place.

DH has worked for the same company for 27 years, started of weekend working and has progressed to respected manager.

A new manager about him has come in, no where near as much expert or knowledge and is making life for DH very uncomfortable.

Constantly belittling, criticising and undermining all that he does. Higher up managers have been pulled in and DH name and good reputation is being questioned.

Complaints have already been made about this new manger for a variety of reasons.

How far would you go to protect one of your own?

What do you mean?

You dh is one of whose own? Are you asking how far you should go?

Are you asking how far the employer should go?

How far would you go to protect one of your own?

What is this even supposed to mean?

WeAreTheHeroes · 25/05/2023 12:02

Are you talking about taking out a contract or what?!

Do not get involved yourself. This is a work matter for your DH to deal with. Just because he's respected doesn't mean things can't be done better. Even if someone has less expertise and experience a person it doesn't mean they can't make changes which make improvements. Humans are always resistant to change.

It sounds like the OP has asked ChatGBT to write her a plotline.

Step away and let your dh handle it himself 😳.

If there's no substance to the complaints it's hard to see how it's having such an impact anyway, to be honest.

It's hard to know exactly what you are asking. Who is going to be doing the protecting?

FoFanta · 25/05/2023 12:11

Is your husband Tony Soprano?

Wow. Tough crowd on a Thursday morning.

You could be asking anything from whether the directors should call a formal meeting to mediate to whether you should send your adult son round to break the manager's knee caps and kill his dog.

Wow. Tough crowd on a Thursday morning.

Tough crowd because we think your post doesn’t make sense and your question isn’t clear?

Since is your husbands job, not yours the question doesn’t make any sense. What could you actually to do to protect him?

His employers should be following employment law and managing the situation, if you mean you husband is ‘one of their own’
