Can I text neighbours and say about mum's birthday?

My mum is about half an hour away. I can't see her on her 90th birthday which is this Monday. Mum has dementia - not too bad yet, and a heart condition. I feel sad that she may not hear from many people on Monday other than her carers.

I am in regular contact with the couple below her - fit and well in their late 60s/.early 70's I expect.. Whenever there is an issue with tradespeople coming in etc, they will let them in, do things such as this for my mum..

Also there are 2 ladies of the same age, one of whom my mum used to love chatting with when she was more mobile..

I don't know if it's rude or cheeky to text any of them to say by the way my mum will be 90 on Monday.. They might want to send her a card..

What do you think ? Thanks in advance..

PS happy birthday to your mum for Monday, and good wishes to you for your cancer treatment; I'm hopefully coming out the other side of mine(though I didn't tell my mum since if she remembered it would only worry her, and if she didn't remember she'd get the shock every time it was mentioned)

Thanks very much and best wishes to you too..I couldn't decide for a long time whether to tell my mum but then I thought she was going to wonder when my hair started falling out and I had no energy to do anything so I went ahead and told her. Luckily I think she does forget again in.between seeing me so it's worked out ok. Thanks again 😄

@Brandyb thanks for your post. Yes I take your point that there's no harm in mentioning these things..If they're busy they don't need to do anything at all..Still pondering 🤔
