How to attach fall alarm to belt.

My mum has an alarm button that she was originally wearing round her neck on a strap. She’s just found out that she shouldn’t wear it there as she has a pacemaker.
can anyone suggest a strong popper strap or other fastening that she can use to attach it to her belt so it’s still close by. The company have provided a keyring but it’s really fiddly to take on and off.
I thought a popper or buckle strap.
thank you.

She should wear a wrist sort that is waterproof and never gets removed, they look like Fitbits. No good attached to a belt which can get forgotten or goes in the wash.

Would a carabiner clip work? You can could add a split-ring to join the carabiner to the device.

But I agree putting it on a belt may risk it not getting worn or going in the washing machine. The bracelet type would be better if that's possible.

She’s already bought the pendant kind unfortunately. It wasn’t mentioned that they’re not suitable for pacemaker users.

Yes that could work. I’m thinking something that loops over the belt before it’s buckled so it doesn’t get left attached to the clothes when washed.
If we’d realised the sort she bought wasn’t suitable we could’ve bought the watch type.

Maybe complain it's not fit for purpose, they may change it for the watch type Have you contacted your local council, just recently got one for a relative which can be used either as a pendant or watch

Johnogroats · 30/04/2026 16:39

I’d call them up and explain. If it’s Careline I’ve found them helpful.

Find a hairband that fits her wrist comfortably and loop the pendant cord attachment through that, then she can wear it on her wrist.

catofglory · 30/04/2026 16:54

I hope you find a solution.
Do you think they would swap it for a bracelet type? It could be worth asking.

You need to complain it's not suitable, they should change it over.

You don’t buy them ? You pay monthly
so she could cancel contract and go with company that do a wrists watch
my sister has one thinks it’s just gone up to £26.?? A month

Smidge001 · 30/04/2026 18:26

Careline would definitely swap. If its from somewgere else I'm sure they would swap it too if you explain it's not compatable with a pacemaker. They should be used to that.

ElderFlour88 · 30/04/2026 18:59

Thank you, that’s really helpful. It was already pushing the budget financially to get this ones I will see what they can do about swapping.
Thank you everyone, you’ve been really helpful.
