Christmas gift for carer?

My mother moved to sheltered housing this year, and now has a local authority carer who visits 3 times a day. My mother isn't the easiest, and she has deep rooted racist attitudes. Despite that the carer has been so supportive, gone above and beyond, helping Mum be organised, phoning me about issues on her day off etc.The carer is living here - she is Nogerian- while her husband studies at university, and she has two children. I would like to give her a gift and a thankyou for christmas. I don't know a lot about he carers own life- I thought about money- but maybe that is too impersonal, and I don't know if there are rules about accepting money - many of the carers clients have dementia, are vulnerable.

I was thinking about an Amazon voucher and a big tin of chocolates- any ideas?

As a carer myself I would be delighted with that. It's always nice to feel appreciated 😁

Amazon vouchers sound great or maybe some gloves hat and scarf if she doesn't drive, I would be give the children some selection boxes,

Thanks- that's helpful.

I would sign the present from you if you are unsure.

One more thing I would recommend is a letter to the carer expressing your thanks and appreciation, if possible mention specific instances where she has been extra helpful. And if she is from an agency write to them as well and express your appreciation.
