Alert Bracelets

My mum is 82 and lives alone quite independently but has had a couple of 'faints' in the last year. Lots of tests done and seems to be a blood pressure issue
Anyway, we were talking about her having an alert bracelet of some kind.
I know nothing about these things and winder if anyone has any recommendations or tips?
TIA

search her local council website for careline/lifeline etc. If dm is having these faints (postural drop) I’d get one that triggers when it detects a fall rather than one that needs to be pressed. Alarms go through to the careline service and they will contact her through the loudspeaker, and if no response will contact you and/or the emergency services.

The careline companies ask for a list of people to contact in the case of an event. Ideally you need a next door neighbour or someone very close to respond immediately. That can be a big ask - especially if a response is needed in the middle of the night. They only call emergency services as a last resort. You will need a key box with a key code to allow them entry.

These bracelets work well for people who are frail and still have capacity. Not so much for people who might forget what they are or press them inadvertently.

My mum has the necklace and while she’s not pressed it a lot she has pressed it
its worth every penny for peace of mind, think it’s lifeline she has (on a train and menopause brain has gone blank!)

Thankyou! I live a 3 minute walk away so I could be there quickly.

Because of my heart problems and the fact that I live alone I have a pendant alarm through the LA - it is also connected to a fire alarm. You can have it as bracelet or pendant. I wear the pendant in the shower with no problem.

A private company runs the scheme but you access it via LA and I pay a small amount each month.

I also have a medi-alert bracelet that lists the heart surgeries I have had and the meds I am on.

My dad has one. Through Ostara who do the contract in Newcastle.
They didn't ask for neighbours and you don't need to give one if there is noone close. The problem with falls is if the person can't get up off the floor you need specialist lifting equipment. My FIL had one and had a couple of falls in his last few months. They used to phone us to check the cameras to see if it was a false alarm or not but they would go in to lift him from the floor with the most amazing equipment.
Dad's has a key safe installed by the company but they don't give anyone the number other than emergency services as they've had so many instances of family using the key safe keys and not putting them back.
With my FIL they used our key safe.
Cost is about £6 a week. If they need one do you get attendance allowance as that will help pay for it.
