Can anyone recommend a brand of watch-style falls alarm?

After years of cajoling my elderly aunt has finally agreed to get a falls alarm provided it is a watch-style one. There are so many online I don't know where to start. Any recommendations?

This one looks like the best value

Followed by the Careline option.

Anyone have any experience of these two or others they've used?

Thanks in advance

I'd go for the carline as it also looks like it has a built in falls detector which is essential if she can't physically press the button for any number of reasons

Ignore me, just seen they both have falls detector in them, Careline is very well known.

Depending on where she lives her local council may run a service. They are usually cheaper and better. Ours runs one where when the alarm goes off someone will visit and help the person back up.

Good idea, Telecare was set up by social services for us, they also installed a keysafe and were named first responders. They may also do falls mats, detectors and offer advice. Has she been referred to her local falls and fragility unit.

Have a look at what your local council provide. Ours is great.

Our council scheme definitely supplies the watch kind as well as the pendant. It will be easy to find out.

Thanks all - really appreciate your posts. I contacted the local council / Adult Social Care and she would be eligible for an alarm through them but she really baulked at the idea of having any contact with social services (who she used to work for). So, I talked her through the options and she's gone with the first one (with falls monitor add-on) - so far customer service is v good.

Also worth looking to see if there is a local Community Support charity. My DM’s local one was incredibly helpful - sorted out a falls pendant and later a watch style one, had trained volunteers on call 24/7 to help if she had a fall, did meals on wheels, arranged a key safe, community car scheme etc. Amazing team of people.

My dm has one of these. But it doesn't go off automatically, she has to press a button.

My df wont wear one as he doesn't feel he needs to 🙄

With all of my elderly relatives we went through their local council. All have had falls alarms built in and we’ve never had a problem. Relatives are scattered across a few different areas.
