I have asked to go visit my mum as i havent seen her for a long time, and i asked my sister to leave,as we are both very hostile to each other, but i also would like to go through my dads possessions, as again my sister has refused me, Do I have right to go in my parents house, I'd my sister lives there,my father had recently passed away and mother has dementia with no mental capacity. As my sister has taken over everything. Not allowing me to sort my dad's things out, or being alone, to spend time with my mum only if she stays in the house, which is awkward as we have has confrontations, and I have issues with her causing my dad's last hospital admission to his passing, and hoe she treated him previously, any advice would be grateful

I don’t think you can force her to leave her own house.

You need to establish who is the executor for your dad’s estate, and if anyone holds power of attorney for your mum. If neither will or POA are in place I think you need to see a solicitor and ask Adult Social Care about a Social Worker for your mum.

To be fair if you haven't been to visit your mother for a long time but are now showing up to go through your fathers possessions after he has died, then I can't blame your sister for being hostile if she has been caring for them both!

You admitted you’ve assaulted your sister a couple of times in your previous thread.

I think some comments on this and my other post quite insulting. My dad was a good man and my sister caused him to be a shell of a man, wouldn't talk to anyone, wasn't allowed to go out, at all.everywhere he did go, for appointments he was quizzed, what did you say? If you tell drs etc anything they will put mum in care home.I was going in there, and I was my dad's voice as he was scared of his own daughter,he cried infront of my sister and a social worker saying he was scared of her, she told both my parents everything, knowing my mum has dementia and my dad was so depressed and a great worrier.I was protecting them as if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be here. My dad would give anything to any of his family. My dad work right upto retirement, gave us all he could, and kept the house and my mum too, but when my sister gave her job up to care for my mum with me and then my daughters, she controlled everything, there banks, who they could and couldn't talk to, nothing was personal to them, my mum never worked from when I was born 55 years ago, and my dad had hardly anything, my sister would hint and say mum needs something or we need this and that and always my dad would pay. He wasn't even allowed to do lottery in the end. So for those that say I assaulted or attacked my sister, what would you of done? Social services have been called over 7 times in 3 years and done nothing. I admit I had my hand to her throat and went to hit her, with my palm of my hand, but she was calling me some very strong nasty things, and in my face, she doesn't stop going on although she's told to stop.she blocks my path out,she snigger at me, and her language is terrible,I'm no angel but I wouldn't keep on the way she does. My poor dad got 1 visit from her in the 32 days he was in hospital, she only visited the day he passed away.

Who has lasting power of attorney for your mum, if she lacks capacity.

Regardless of what your sister said to you, the fact that you were physically aggressive to her shows a complete lack of control.
