Techsilver dementia tracker or recommendations

Does anyone have any feedback about the techsilver dementia tracker?

Or any recommendations for other brands?

I like the idea of an SOS button (doesn't use a phone - never has done!!)

My grandfather has ‘moderate’ dementia but is still keen on his walks. Incident recently of knocking at the wrong house adamant he lived there resulting in police/ambulance being called.

Obviously I know it relies on being used/taken out. Would attach it to his coat zip via the keyring which I don't think he would be able to remove.

Dont know if its just to make me feel better rather than of being much use 🙄

Interested to hear any feedback re this. FIL also with dementia and sometimes gets confused. We have added an apple tag to his keys and tied to the laces of his boots so we can see where he is.

Hi @Mari01
I think you may be right that the tracker may be more about you feeling better!
I tried all sorts of things to keep my mother safe when she was still living at home. She had a tracker in the form of a bracelet, but she used to take it off as soon as her carers left so it was no use.

It may work to attach it to his coat, but he may see it as a foreign object and remove it. If there was anything new and unfamiliar my mother would generally find a way of discarding it, even if she had to rip it off (including her drip in hospital!)

Will he reliably wear his coat (or a particular jacket in warmer weather) when he goes out? My mother would wander off without her coat (and keys), regardless of the weather.

Having said all that, it's worth giving it a try.
