Dietary Advice for Elderly Parent

Apologies if topic already covered and/or if inappropriate - will move.

Am seeking advice on behalf of an elderly relative (late 80s) who has had internal complaints for some time. Doctors have prescribed various combinations of meds, which they take as instructed, but the issues remain (unpleasant and embarrassing). Ideally it would be good to have a detailed conversation with GP or other medic about best dietary practice - but GP appointments tend to be rushed, plus the person is hard of hearing and it's difficult to get the detail. They are more or less mobile but struggle - so attending GP or clinic is not ideal. Does anyone have any advice / suggestions about ways to get advice or further assessment - particularly dietary advice, but possibly with the medical knowledge to include assessment of current meds. Ideally there would be a possibility for a professional to make a home visit - GP would not usually do this in their area unless an emergency (which this isn't)

The person has money and could pay for a professional to visit. But it's hard to know where to start finding someone. Any advice very much appreciated.

Could ask your GP if they can recommend a registered dietician who specialises in the problem

Some private GPs will do a home visit.

If you look up the British Dietetic Association- they have a Food Facts section with resources
