Will the GP tell my mum that I set up the appointment?

My mother had a dementia test last spring - '23. Since then a few people, neighbours, her cleaner and now her pension adviser guy, have all expressed various worries to me. I know her mental faculties have declined. She's physically fit but does lots of silly things, throwing away pills, forgetting to take a whole week's worth etc. So I called the GP ( they are happy to deal with me), asked about another dementia test. They sent me a link and I made the appointment. Then realised I needed to tell a porky/ white lie to my mum and said that they had rung me. Tried to explain all this to the receptionist today and she said she was making a note about it. I'm still worried. Any ideas please? Mum is fiercely independent and would not want me going behind her back. Sorry for long post. Any great ideas how to minimise my naughty deed would be great.

I used to do exactly the same for my mum, tell her the GP has asked her to go in. They never told her that I had made the appointment.

“A routine annual check”

I was at a hospital with my wife today as she needs cataract surgery, she has loads of signs of dementia. We are both aged 77. They were very happy to take my mobile number and email address as her contact details. I got the impression that doctors are happy to help patients with dementia by removing any stresses they can.

My husband passed the doctor a note to read with concerns written on it.

Thanks very much to everyone who has answered. It's all very helpful.

@I8toys , thanks but did your mum ( if we're talking about your mum), not ask what was written on the note? I think my mum would question me on it

No my MIL - it was a discreet read this sort of thing. Can't remember who suggested it - think it could have been the admiral nurses. MIL didn't challenge it.
