For the woman's mum who is in the care home can't U take Ur mum home for the night and look after her urself as it won't do no good U being awake all night worrying about who's going to walk in the room either that or U sit awake all night making sure she is safe

If this the same post I'm thinking of, I think her mum was end of life so it's not so simple to just bundle her in a car and take her home. Plus, she's bedridden so unless she lives in a bungalow, how would she get her up the stairs?

Well just callmebes ,I didn't say bundle her into a car ,she said her mother has a chest infection not end of life ,if she doesn't live in a bungalow she could borrow a zbed and put it in her lounge for her mum, because she's not going to get any sleep in the care home bye the sounds of it is she !

If someone's in a nursing home that means they're likely to be very frail and usually have a lot of stuff they need in order to manage any aspect of day-to-day life. A normal house with a Z bed would be totally unsuitable - they might well need a hospital bed with a mattress to avoid pressure sores, commode or handles around the toilet, or a hoist and a couple of people to lift them onto a commode or to change incontinence products. Wheelchair to get them into the house - transfers from car to chair to bed take practice, not all doorways are wide enough.

@EmotionalBlackmail ahhhhha ,I have a elderly relative like that but if I was worried about people intruding in a care home room at night I would give him a piggy back if I had to get him out of a place like that but ,the lady who posted this post must be ok with the care home now as she hasn't commented since so all's good id say ,thank U for U response

I think the care home resident would be far more at risk from someone trying to give them a piggyback(?!?!) and take them out of the place than being disturbed at night by some fellow residents with dementia.

@EmotionalBlackmail I disagree ,I would do anything to keep my elderly relative safe ,can't be much of a care home if the staff can't keep the residents out of other people's rooms ,they should be coxing them back to their rooms and if need be should sit outside the poorly woman's door to stop them going in ,I used to work in a care home and that's what I would do ,Ur user name prob reflects Ur personality ,emotional
