Panic alarms

Looking for a little advice please. My mum needs a panic alarm, we just want one with a lanyard around her neck that connects to a hub, she doesn't need the more sophisticated one with GPS etc.

But even the basic hub plus lanyard differs vastly in price between companies and I'm not sure why. Age UK are charging £85 initial plus £23.99pm but i have seen others charging £40-£70 then £15pm-£20pm

Can anyone recommend their provider or explain what the difference is to warrant the extra cost?

Thanks in advance.

My DM has one from Taking Care and is really happy with it. She had a different company before and felt they weren't as good.

She also tried the lanyard and it spent it's time permanently on her bedside table. The wrist one has been better - as she actually uses it.

She has one which detects falls - it isn't 100% but is very good. She also has the smart home sensor which is brilliant as it knows when she hasn't got out of bed or the house is too cold and they check she is OK.

Thank you, that's one of the companies we were considering.

Check with your local adult social services - some have a subsidised scheme that brings the price down considerably.

My dad and fil have them. About £6 or £7 a week through the council. No need to pay huge upfront costs.

Not every council still does them. We looked at the local council scheme and they were closed to new clients.
