Gift for care home carers

My lovely dad has died in a care home.

He was only there for a few months for end of life nursing care. I’d like to buy something as a thank you to the carers there. It was a private nursing home but they were clearly short staffed and the carers especially seemed over worked.

They were all unfailingly kind to my dad in often difficult circumstances. What can I take in as a thank you? I know chocolate or cakes are nice but wondered if any other ideas or things to suggest that you might have done in this situation.. or if you work in a nh what would be a good gift?

thinking I’ll need at least 25 of whatever I get.

🙏

I'd check they are allowed to accept individual gifts. We weren't when I worked in care. Which is why cake/biscuits for the staff room are so popular.

Ask the home manager. They may have a staff fund you can contribute to that pays for presents at Christmas. Or the manager can advise what they might like or would be appropriate. Maybe have a budget in mind to suggest

@QueenOfTheEntireFuckingUniverse
thanks worth checking & can see sealed treats being good plan… with shift patterns was keen to make sure everyone included so some nice boxes of biscuits or chocs would work.
@Daffidale
thanks, good idea too.

Hand cream is always appreciated due to the number of times you have to wash your hands in a day! Or a nice set of mugs for the staff room!

If they have nice grounds you could either buy a nice plant or a miniature tree like a Weeping Willow or blossom tree maybe 🤔
