Mum has had a couple of health scares recently and then Dad as well. My sister has
been the person on site. though have had to tell my head teacher that I needed a weeks compassionate leave to cover emergency care for them...
I spent Feb half term helping my in-laws move house, then I had the compassionate leave.
Mum and Dad's health is now more stable and Mum can move home again with 4 carers over 24hrs. So we need to rearrange the house, bedroom into dining room, dining room into conservatory, not sure where that furniture will go...
H does not want to spend any time over the Easter weekend helping...
I do not regret helping in-laws and would do it again, because I like them.
I am just very disappointed in H, not very D at the moment.
I can cope, I will cope and both DC have offered to help, but...

I don’t know what to say other than that I would feel the same 😥maybe it’s compassion fatigue and a genuine need to recharge his batteries but in your shoes I’d definitely be reconsidering the support I would offer ‘d’h next time if only to preserve your energy for the next time you need to support your own parents. I hope you have some other supportive people in your life.

Thank you, definately not compassion fatigue, my darling lovely youngest sister in- law is moving in with my in-laws my technically step-mil and her daughter, my dlysil get on so well and my fil is rejuvenated by his grandchildren.
I will agree that H has had a lot of stress throughout though work, but in all honesty I (wish otherwise) don't think my parents health is going to be a long-term problem
