Carers Allowance...

Just after a bit of advice really..
My mum gets Attendance Allowance, and I'm thinking about claiming for Carers Allowance... she lives next door but one to me, and I guess I'm already doing a lot for her to try and help her stay in her own home with support.
Employment wise I have an NHS Bank contract, so staying within the allowed earnings will be ok.
My partner has a small business, classed as a sole trader, and submitting regular tax returns. We have a joint account, and his sales & outgoings go through this account.
My question is will the monies going through this account be looked by DWP?.. as they are his earnings would they be better in an account in just his name?

They only look at your earnings.

I don't think you can claim Carers where the caree is receiving AA

You can.

I claim CA. They only look at the earnings of the person claiming, my dh money doesn’t come into account. It’s an absolute pittance though and you can’t earn more than £139 and you are expected to care for at least 35 hours per week.

trulyunruly01 you can. My mum claims AA and I claim the CA.

Is she claiming pension credit? if so what type, if she is on savings or guaranteed pension credit that won't be affected however if she is claiming the severe disability premium which is in addition to the above she will lose that as she cant claim that if someone is claiming carers allowance for her.

Thanks all... I know that my mum getting AA makes it eligible for claiming CA, and my part time work is under the threshold.
I'm fortunate that I already have a reasonable occupational pension, which isn't taken into account, the concern really was that my partners earnings, which go into our joint account would be classed as joint earnings - its not, he's a sole trader. I can provide payslips for my wages, so hopefully this should be fine :)
