As title really. Mum's tv has given up the ghost, and hoping that someone has some recent buying experience.

I can set the new one up for (I hope)
but the tv itself needs to be very easy to use/navigate and non fiddly!

She would like it to have bbc iplayer, All4, ITV hub, YouTube and Netflix, and these need to be super easy to find and access on screen.

Any advice on screen size would be great too as she currently sits about 3M from a 26" screen and can't read the questions on Pointless! 😁 but doesn't want "anything huge"

Think realistically, £300 would be top of her budget.

TIA

My MIL watches all her TV on an iPad now. Her eyesight and hearing is poor so she can manage much better with an iPad than a TV. Why’ve set it up so it’s only got iPlayer, BBC Sounds and FaceTime on it so we can call her too.

What I did was buy the same tv as I have so that I would know how it worked and could deal with phone calls saying it’s not working

Would she want a basic sky subscription. I find their interface the most user friendly, just go down to apps press the button and they are all in a row once you install them for her.

That’s a really good idea Horses

Thank you all for the suggestions, an iPad sounds like a good idea, she used to use an iPhone so maybe that would be a little familiar. I shall suggest it - wish me luck 😁

My parents recently got a 43" Samsung smart tv from John Lewis. It's easy for them to use. They upgraded from an old 32" tv. They also like quiz shows like pointless and the chase and have commented on how it's easier to read the questions!
It's got all the apps you'd need and was avoid £270 I think with a 5yr guarantee.

A large ipad - like Ipad Pro or similar (rather than a standard smaller one) is what we upgraded our 97 year old to.

Still Facetimes Australian relatives in the middle of the night though….😁😂

You gotta keep an eye on the post 90 year olds. If I give mine an iPad am slightly concerned she may end up with a wannabe young fiancée 😁

Thank you, John Lewis bought appliances goes down well with mum still - I'll have a look at the 43" Samsung - it's not just mum that can't see the questions on Pointless! 😁
