Anyone have any experience of this company? MIL was persuaded to buy tablets from them and has spend around £10k over the last few years. All for stuff she doesn’t need. We now have POA and she can’t spend any more. They continued to harass her until I sent them a cease and desist. I’m sure they would claim that these were all legitimate transactions but has anyone had any success in getting money back? These companies need to be stopped.

you have POA? Does she have dementia?

WillimNot · 27/12/2023 10:13

Have you spoken to her bank?

My DH isn't elderly but fell for a lottery mirror site scam, £600+ came out of his bank.

I successfully spoke to NatWest, said their systems should have flagged it under their scam promise and we got all £600 back, plus £300 compensation.

I would speak to her bank, ask for a chargeback or advice. If they are reluctant, I would mention the ombudsman service and a complaint. She is clearly a vulnerable customer and banks should recognise these rogue companies.

She does not have a diagnosis. She has always been a bit careless with money. Has no idea how much things are worth, things like that.

What's that got to do with the price of fish?

The OP is concerned that her relative has been fleeced out of thousands and you have to pick on something else.

A search on Easylife scam gets a lot of hits, but I couldn't at first sight find anything practical for you. Lots of getting money back when you've been signed up without your knowledge, but may be more difficult when it's been going on a long time. As a PP said, bank may be a better bet than Easylife. who will point to their "cancel within 14 days" policy

If she has a dementia diagnosis, it might be easier to press for a refund on grounds of vulnerability.

Hi EmptyYoghurtPot, I am a Researcher working on BBC 1 medical show which highlights and raises awareness of lots of different medical crimes & scams. I was wondering if you would be willing to have a quick chat about your experience with EasyLife? Please let me know what you think! Thanks, Laura.
