My dad told me 10 days ago that he was occasionally slurring his words (aware that what comes out of his mouth is gibberish) and his lips keep going numb.
I asked (told!) him to contact the GP as it could be a sign of stroke. He did, and GP sent him straight to A&E.
A&E were brilliant, reassuring him that he needed to be there, and wasn't wasting time. He had a CT scan, and all clear so left with a referral to TIA clinic for more investigations. They phoned at 8am the next morning with an appt for later that day. He insisted on driving himself.
I got a phone call asking me to go and get him as they said he couldn't drive home. he was confused about what he had been told...luckily the Dr fitted us in for a quick debrief. No signs of stroke or TIA that they could see, but were arranging an MRI to be sure. He had that a week ago, and I'm hoping nothing has been found, as we haven't heard anything! But..they were concerned it could be a form of epilepsy causing the issues..so no driving!

Don't really know why I'm posting this..guess i just need to talk about it!

Waiting times for reporting of very specialised scans can be weeks easily unfortunately. He definitely shouldn't drive and I hope he can find out what's causing this soon. Best wishes
