"Cloudy" eyesight

Saw dm yesterday. She's 87 and quite miserable with bad arthritis affecting mobility and hands etc. She looks after df 88 and he has early stage dementia; he's not too bad with it right now.

Last year she had cataract operations on both eyes at separate times. All went well. She last saw the optician last month and was told her eyesight is "fine". Glasses ok etc. She's had diabetes for roughly 10 years but it is apparently controlled; on metformin. She's not especially great at eating a diabetic friendly diet.

Anyway, yesterday she announced her eyesight is "cloudy" and has been for a few weeks. But she didn't really explain more.

My dsis and I were taking her out for a small Christmas treat, which she seemed perked up by.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts re the cloudy eyesight.

Thanks for reading.

Sometimes after cataracts people need laser treatment. Maybe get the optician to have another look as she will need to be re referred if the eye dept has discharged her.

Post cataract cloudiness is a possible side effect listed in an NHS cataract surgery leaflet I saw recently.

Cataract op does not always resolve the problem . There may be other issues such as amd or retinopathy developing.
