Is there a way to remotely access elderly relative's TV?

Does anyone know of a way to remotely access elderly relative's TV to get it back on the right source after they have randomly pressed buttons? An App or whatever?

This is a recurring problem. They can't describe to me what they can see on the TV so I don't know what I'm dealing with, and anyway I couldn't talk them through trying to fix it even if I could see it as they are not able to following instructions.

I'm 50 miles away and am currently housebound after an accident so going over there myself is out of the question. This is becoming a recurring problem so I need to find a long term solution. I am really hoping someone more knowledgeable than me has found a solution to this problem?

Similar here and no, no app I know of but maybe someone who knows more will reply.
Can they use video call on their mobile phone, whatsapp or facetime so you can talk them through it?
Or could you get a security camera which would give a visual of they are doing?
Alternatively, go back to the source and simplify the tv set up so it literally only switches on and is on the right feed, can extra devices be unplugged which may be causing this? (Video, or similar)? Or a friendly patient neighbour who could call in?

I just see they can't follow instructions, scrap the video call idea!

@Aposterhasnoname That looks as though it might do the trick by removing the possibility of a wrong button being pushed! I could set it up so they could flick through just the Sky channels they normally watch. Thank you, you may have resolved it for us

@justforthisnow It's so frustrating for both of us. We used to be able to resolve it over the phone together. They are finding it so hard to accept they can no longer understand or remember instructions. @Aposterhasnoname may just have sorted this for us by coming at it from a different angle
