Flu Jab

I'm not sure if this would make me the main Carer for my parent. I would like to get a free flu jab as I don't want to pass the flu into my parent:

I See my parent once or twice a week

Parent has carers from a care agency

I sort out the care - liaise with care agency etc

I do the shopping lists, take her out, sort out medical appointments, house maintenance

I don't claim carer's allowance

Does this make me the main Carer?

Thanks

Yes, register at your GP. I believe you’ll get covid and an annual health check too

Register as an unpaid carer and you should qualify,

Yes definitely. I was given the Covid one last year simply because I'd driven my DM to the centre for her vaccine.

Second what the PPs have said. You need to tell her GO that you are your DM's carer and tell your own GP too Flowers

I'm the main (only) carer for my dad (91). I'm having my free flu jab on Tuesday, two days before my sixty-sixth birthday. And I'll be picking up a 'Carer's Pack' from them, the same day.

Yes, if you are in England you can just book a free flu jab at a chemist. They will ask what category you are in (carer, clinically vulnerable etc). For covid use the NHS booking service and self-identify as a carer. At the appointment I wasn't asked for proof, just which category I was in.

What you do is enough to qualify as 'unpaid carer' I think.
