Vitamin pill to boost immunity that's very small and easy to swallow?

I'm sure there are a good many multivitamin pills out there but I was hoping to avoid a big bulky one and opt for a fairly small multivitamin that does everything, for my elderly father to take.
Can anyone recommend one? It doesn't have to be tiny. Often you can buy these things - they're not always cheap - and take one look and think, that's not going to work, and pill cutters wouldn't help either.

What about chewy ones? Would he manage something like that? Or you get spray vitamins too

Small vitamin / mineral pills don't contain full RDA of all the minerals you need because you physically wouldn't fit it all into a small pill. If it's just specific vitamins, then the sprays are good. Or a fortified milkshake drink?

I buy Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D for myself from Home Bargains which are chewable raspberry flavoured and taste exactly like Refreshers. They are delicious. Not sure if they have a multivitamin as a single tablet but I can’t recommend these highly enough.

Holland and Barrett do an effervescent multi vitamin, like Berocca

UndercoverCop · 09/08/2023 23:07

There are also drops that can be taken directly or mixed in juice etc, my gran had them before she died because she had some difficulties swallowing tablets. I think they were called biocare

The Better You sprays are good. On Amazon or shops eg waitrose.

LucifersPain · 09/08/2023 23:09

Yep, get a spray instead. VitaminD for immune system.

Angelswehaveheardonhigh · 09/08/2023 23:10

My dad has trouble swallowing so I get him the chewy vitamin gummies. Like sweets!

Yes, these are brilliant. I've used the Vit D one for years.

Or buy fizzy multivits, which will also encourage them to drink more, as elderly people often get dehydrated and don't feel thirst.

Angelswehaveheardonhigh · 09/08/2023 23:11

I just replied to say that I buy my dad the chewy gummy ones and for some reason my 'reply was hidden until MN can have a look at it'.🤷🏻‍♀️

Angelswehaveheardonhigh · 09/08/2023 23:12

But you can also buy vitamin drops that you pipette into your mouth.

NewspaperTaxis · 12/08/2023 11:39

Thanks, I will visit Waitrose and see if they have the Better You sprays. Dad has a few vitamins sometimes, like the B12 and Zinc from Savers but they start to number quite a few, I wondered if there was a small one-size fits all one. I don't want him to get the idea that chewing pills is good given his other stuff that needs to be swallowed straight down!

Thought he wouldn't need Vitamin D but given this summer so far, of course he does.

I bought this liquid one for my mother who doesn’t like taking tablets or effervescent drinks. The same brand also do a version with added iron

NewspaperTaxis · 04/09/2023 01:04

Thanks - I've been to Waitrose and Sainsbury's and can't find any spray vitamins so I may go with this one. H&B do an iron liquid supplement a bit cheaper than the Floradix one...

You need chemists not supermarkets eg Boots, Superdrug or Holland & Barrett. Or directly from the Better You website.

Thanks! I'm going to sleep now, I've been up for an hour on that spooky scary unresolved/missing persons thread.

I'd go as far as saying everyone needs it. I've tested about 150 patients. Only had 5 patients with a normal level.

Lidl do soluable multivitamins and gummies

HerAvatar · 04/09/2023 07:25

Tesco multivits are nice and small, if you look at the labels the actual tablet size is pictured so you can see, they do a pretty good range.

NewspaperTaxis · 04/09/2023 14:56

Thanks everyone! I hadn't thought of Lidl or Tesco, though we have both in town.

Boots does a great iron supplement called Feroglobin. It comes in liquid form or capsules of tiny seeds. I use the capsules now for ease. Very easy to digest and doesn't cause constipation like traditional iron tablets can/
H&B and most chemists will sell a good Vit D spray.
