Care home no longer providing toiletries.

My friend is in a care home. I'm really the only person who he has left as his family don't care and he pushed everyone else away. The care home have decided that they no longer will provide toiletries. Is this normal? Can't say I've really want to take responsibility for this. Sorting out his affairs during covid was very stressful. And he really isn't my responsibility.

About once a year I see about £2.50 added to my father’s bill for “toiletries”, and the home takes the opportunity of adding shower gel to his Christmas present from them.

I get told to buy him underpants; I don’t get told to buy him toiletries

When my father in law was in a care home they didn't provide toiletries. I set up a subscribe and save on amazon. You pick the items that you want and the frequency you want them and they were delivered directly to the home. You just need to make sure it has the persons name and the homes address on the delivery. Once its set up you don't have to think about it again.

I use to work in a care home and friends or family bought the bits. But the ones who had no one care home brought the items out of there money each week. One resident who smoked had cigarettes got for him by the care home out of he'd allowance
