I am at present POA for my mother's financial affairs. I have just noticed that a WFP has gone in for £600 so i assume that is one for my father too.
Not sure what i am meant to do as my father is in a nursing home and will be remaining there because he has high care needs.
Their bank account is joint but i do not have POA for my dad.

I have no paperwork and my ather's care is funded by the council, although he does contribute around £1000 a month which is taken by DD.

Yes it's a joint payment, the gov website breaks it down so you can see what/why.

Usually they pay half to each person

It actually depends on circumstances which is why I suggested the website for a breakdown of the payment. It was £600, not 2 x £300

If you haven't got a letter then I would call DWP. If your father is in a care home they should be aware and your parents should be treated separately with regard to benefits. Eg if they receive pension credit as a couple they should now receive it as single people as not living together and benefitting from that. The WFP includes cost of living payments so it could be just your mums payment. Not everyone receives the same WFP amount so it's best to check.

Isn’t there a one-off payment to pensioners on top-of the usual £200/300 per household (depending on age)
