Gynaecological Oncology Appointment

My dm 81 was in hospital as again her oxygen sats were low and we called an ambulance. This has happened 3/4 times now (I’ve lost count).

She was discharged last week. All ok, apart from she was a bit weak.

Whilst there, she had bleeding whilst urinating and it was quite a lot of blood as she ruined her dressing gown. She got examined by the gynaecological team and she had some scans. Nothing more was said (but quite frankly, we didn’t get any answers from anyone)
My dm has now been called in, for Wednesday next week for a gynaecological oncology appointment.
It's not good news is it? We’re so worried for her. She’s already had bowel cancer twice and currently has a lesion on her lung (which they think is cancerous and have monitored it, but not spreading).
Can I have a hand hold please or has anyone been in a similar situation?

I can definitely offer a handhold @Longdistance Flowers

Thank you @PritiPatelsMaker I’m stressing so much about this appointment for dm.

Holding your hand as well. I hope it's not as bad as you fear.
Look after yourself, and make sure your mother also eats and drinks properly. Will be thinking and praying for you both over the next week.

My mum's friend was diagnosed with womb cancer age 81, she had a total hysterectomy & was fine after convalescence, she lived to be 95.

@Nat6999 my only worry is my dm is already in really bad health with a lesion on her lung and heart problems. The hcp’s are not sure she has dementia either as her scans are clear. She does present as having dementia, but her scans say otherwise.

I'm sorry its so hard as they get older & infirm, you will have to be guided by the consultant, I know they can do the hysterectomy with an epidural, but if she has dementia you need to discuss if it is going to prolong her life & give her quality of life & also if the kindest thing would be to make her comfortable & let nature take it's course.

Thanks @Nat6999 we had to call an ambulance for her again as she was really unwell and unresponsive. Her oxygen sats were 91, so slightly low for her, she’s usually on 96.
The doctors have her down as DNR which she is fine with and she requested three years ago, before her dementia diagnosis. Mum had a really swollen tummy and was listless. They’ve kept her in, so not sure how long she’ll be in.

That all sounds very stressful. How are you doing?
