I used Top Dog last time (2020) as I have loads of pre existing conditions. No one else would touch me Confused

Mrsjayy · 10/04/2022 15:09

Last time my parents travelled I went with SAGA for them my stepdad has a few conditions covered him fine.

ChiswickFlo · 10/04/2022 16:37

How would one find a broker?

Mum and dad both have pre existing conditions, high blood pressure and. Pace maker.

I normally look on go compare.

Newnormal99 · 10/04/2022 16:44

It's potentially not the pre existing conditions as such but that one of them is a new diagnosis.

I used to work for a travel insurance company and would often do the screening calls. It was a scoring matrix and generally the newer the condition the higher the score.

For example anything currently under investigation and it would be a no. Whereas heart issues for example as long as well controlled would not be such an issue.

Apparently my elderly parents (live in USA) travel in Europe & UK without insurance and have done since... maybe forever (surprised me). It might mean me losing all inheritance if there's a disaster but they are are at peace with their decisions. My dad broke his arm in Italy about 8 years ago -- couldn't believe how cheap the clinic treatment was (only needed slinging, anyway).

They have Italian passports but I don't think even have EHIC cards.

ChiswickFlo · 10/04/2022 16:52

Yeah it'll be the new condition that's the issue
Sigh
