and I'm starting to worry about her over-dosing. I'll be talking to her GP on Monday but honestly I don't see what he can do unless he switches her to something she could take twice a day. To be honest though the main priority is keeping her health stable and she is at the moment so I know he would be reluctant to change anything.
My Aunt is 89 and lives with my mum. She's very frail but still mobile, has heart failure and is on blood thinners (along with other conditions and drugs).
I do her pill box every week and the last few months I noticed her anti-anxiety drug would be missing some days before it should be and it turns out some days she takes it twice. Which is not what is prescribed.
She's had a few incidents recently which I believe have been caused by her taking too many of the tablets (dizzy, too weak to get out of bed)
She seems to be in a state of high anxiety all of the time and says only taking two tablets helps. I've had to bring the box of tablets home after filling her pill box as she's been taking them out the box recently too.
Anyone any experience of this?
