How can I have a support bubble when schools go back

So far we've done OK with seeing my step-mum, being outside and so on, but winter is coming and we can't sit in the garden forever.

She needs to be in a support bubble with one of us (there are three), but we all have children who are going back to school. How do we square this? What do we do? How do we manage the risks?

I genuinely have no idea what the right answer is, so would welcome any thoughts. My friends who are nurses are all being hyper-cautious, but my stepmother will go mad if she is totally isolated. Argh.

I would suggest that this question gets moved to another area for more traffic like relationships or health

I guess you have to continue to minimise the risks by wearing masks, hand wash, social distance, remain in small bubbles etc

Shielding is over. Crack on with life. How much thought did you give this last year? Your kids could have given her norovirus or flu or any number of things that potentially could have been more serious for her than for them. It's just now you're more hyper aware. The actual risk isn't much higher. Probably lower actually now you will take more care with distancing etc. But there is no reason not to see her.

It is what it is. You all have DCs and they have to return to school and your step mum wants to see you, Paid Carers have DCs too and they work with the most vulnerable people. You can reduce risks, wear masks PPE, sit in room with windows open if not outside. Are you providing essential care? What does your stepmom think?
I'm extremely vulnerable shielding group and have 3DCs, they have to live their lives & are returning to school. It's been 5 months now.
We hope we are through the worst of it, but time will tell and the hob will do local lock downs if infections increase in some areas.
