Want to buy something useful and nice for elderly lady

Not my parent but a lovely lady in her late 80's who I have known for the last 3 years. I want to give her a lovely present that she'll actually like.

Not rightly and completely wrongly she's still doing her own weekly shop as well as picking up bits for her elderly neighbours (she does have family but they're a bit useless, plus she's a battle axe so she'll do what she jolly well wants). She's still collecting her daily newspaper, she's fiercely independent - despite all the advice she's given.

Keen gardener, keen baker, keen community supporter... I don't want to give her a hamper of food or some seeds with a pot ... I just can't think of anything else..

I'd be grateful for some ideas :)

What is the context of, or occasion for, the gift giving? And how much do you want to spend?

Would she welcome a gift? It's hard to discern whether you are offering something to someone 'in need' (materially or spiritually,) or conveying gratitude or simply sending casual lockdown good wishes. Perhaps it's her birthday?

My octogenarian relative receives lots of generic hand cream and chocolates - whereas what she really likes is technology and alcohol, or something for the garden.

David Austin rose? Sussex trug? Subscription to Gardeners’ world?
There is a thread on gardening talking about favourite tools.

A bit random but how about a pair of skechers or a chair for her garden! Or look on the ikea website which delivers for less than £10.
