Serious Readers reading lights

Does anyone have a Serious Readers reading light? Would you recommend it? Are they worth the money?
They claim to be better than other lights and to enable reading for someone with glaucoma.
I'm thinking of getting one for my elderly mum, but as it costs £400 I'd like to hear a few unbiased opinions before shelling out!

Oh gosh we bought MIL one a few years ago but did not pay that much and I see the design has changed .
She used it a lot at first but not so much now . But she spends most of her day in the very bright sunroom .
Not a lot of help am I ?
I see they do a 30 day return guarantee though.

We have 3 in our home and have also bought them for my father (96) and MIL (94) who both have failing sight. They both say they couldn't do without them.

My FiL loves them. He has several l, swears by them. They are not pretty though!

I am reading by one as I type! I am 47 Blush but have found they are fantastic for actually being able to read. Not cheap and not beautiful but definitely useful.

I saw them advertised earlier this year but the price put me off and I bought this from B&Q instead:

Together with a bulb it cost less than £20. I haven't used a Serious Reader so I don't know how they compare, but I use mine as a bedside lamp and I can now read in bed again, after my middle aged eyes could no longer cope with my old, normal, lamp.
