Just found out that my dad is still embroiled with a 419 scam (the ones that start with 'I have 2 billion in the bank and if you send me 200 quid I'll give you 4 million' etc etc.

I am so angry that this is still happening. Last time I knew about it I was suddenly called by an ex girlfriend of his asking where her money was, to find that he'd been persuading people he knew to 'invest '. I don't know if he's still doing that but somehow he is giving money to them. I hope to God it's not his current girlfriend's.

He's a victim of a scam. But I'm angry with him and his lack of morals around money and his bloody weakness.

The scammers are professional and know their job.
Has Ddad contacted action fraud?

TemporaryPermanent · 08/06/2019 14:47

No, he's never accepted that it's a scam. we contacted them years ago - there's nothing that can be done.

The only thing we could do is warn hid girlfriend's family - but it's true I'm reluctant for them to chuck him out! I think we should though. He wasn't living with her when we knew before.

It's so hard while the scam is ongoing I know it is a bit trite but could you contact BBC they do a regular morning show with Gloria hunniford and Angela rippon about these scams the bank may even help.
You have my sympathy Flowers
