Requesting a disabled parking space

My PIL live in Scotland. MIL has Parkinson’s and osteoporosis and is now very limited in her mobility. She’s received a Blue Badge which allows them to park in disabled spaces.

They’ve moved to a new build flat which doesn’t have private or allocated parking spaces: it’s first come first served. As the development is filling up, it’s getting increasingly harder to park outside their place. It’s also not ideal for FIL to drop her and go to look for a space as she can’t manage the main door or unlock / open their own door.

Can they request that the council create a disabled space outside their building? And would it be just for their use, or would it be for anyone with a blue badge?

Cheers for any help .

You can apply as long as it's not private land but the space is available to any blue badge holder. Also depends on the area, but apply quickly, our neighbours applied 3 months ago and still heard nothing.

Hmm I’m not sure if it’s private land - I suspect it belongs to the developer, and I don’t know if it will be handed over to the council. Thanks for that though!
