Best talking book audio device for 93 year old

Looking for inspiration for the simplist lo-Tec solution for a device that will play talking books. It’s for a 93 year old who is about to have a cataract operation. I just don’t know where to start. Are there solutions akin to an old tape player with cassettes and simple plug in ear phones?! I don’t think download options are going to be practical. Grateful for any clues - thanks!

You can buy audio books on cd's. They then just need a cheap CD player.

My grandma has the same issue. You want a daisy player, they’ve got more functions than a standard CD player. Explanation here

The rnib sells players

The cheapest is under £30 but they go spendy very quickly. Because they’re designed for partially sighted people the buttons are bigger and easier to use. You can buy compatible audiobooks from them and I think they provide a library service too.

Good luck to your grandma.

Does anyone know of anything more straighforward than a Daisy player? My mother really wouldn't cope with anything more complicated than a stop and start button and a volume control.
