Do you have any experience of bath lifts? Types? Companies? Maintainance and keeping clean?

My DM has a bath cushion that rises. It was supplied free of charge by the local authority and she is not in the benefits system. They said that if a cushion was satisfactory they they would find a different solution.

I have to say, in this era of cuts and austerity, I was very impressed with the local authority.

Thank you.

Thanks from me too. Just at the point of needing to help my aged ma sort something similar out and didn’t know about these. Could be a game changer for a bit rather than ripping bath out and installing shower/seat etc. Will look into.

DM had one for a while after a stroke although she's now dispensed with it. It was a seat that would rise up and had a remote. She had a quote from a specialist firm that was £££ but went with a very similar item from Amazon at half the price in the end.

DM had bath replaced with shower. It took 2 days and now she has a bath sized walk in shower. Was about £2k iirc and worth every penny. No mess and no fuss.

Good to know. All going into the mix. Thanks for advice. Always felt it was perhaps a bigger and more expensive job.

Look on gumtree. I bought a decent working bath lift in great condition for a fraction of the original price.
