My DM has recently started struggling to find shoes that fit well and that she can do up easily (she's mid 80s). I'm looking at Cosyfeet, but does anyone else have any recommendations for other suppliers - not laces please! TIA

Does she have very swollen feet, or is it just difficult to do them up/ get them on?

Hotter is good. They have velcro straps and have wider fit too, and some of them don't look horrid.

Hotters.

Van Dal shoes are good for smart, wide shoes ( think of the Queen’s style)

CMOT - her feet aren't very swollen. She has "normal" heels but needs more space around the toe area - bunions and hammer toe to accommodate. The shoes need to be high fitting at the front, or have straps, otherwise they drop off her heels. She has problems reaching her feet so laces are difficult, elastic ones can work. Thanks all for your help - something to get started on!

Try Wider Fit Shoes. They do shoes with deeper toe boxes which will accommodate bunions.

Hotters are more substantial- dm has tried cosyfeet who have been good for lightweight ones around the house.

My mum has these www.adessoshoes.co.uk/flats.html?p=2
Hers are in blue and grey but they come in all sorts of colours
They are very very comfortable and she has wide toes but narrow heels
Since she got Alzheimer's she struggles with any fastening but these slip on and off whilst still gripping her foot

In that case, if you ring Hotter then they are quite incredibly helpful - my mum has very wide feet but can't point her feet or do shoes up (she has dementia) and getting shoes that work is very hard. Dad phoned Hotter and they spent am hour on the phone talking to him about what she needed, then sent a few pairs which they thought would work.

I took my mum to sports direct and got her her first ever pair of trainers, aged 88. Got men's ones, as her feet have gone quite wide. Maybe trainers with velcro? My mum is very happy with her trainers.

My mum has very bad feet she's just bought some pavers flat Velcro flexible and sort of memory foam inner sole . I think she paid about £36

Thank you all. We've tracked down a hotter store reasonably close by so we're going to give them a go. Thank you all so much.

My mum has terrible feet and swears by Hotter but she buys them on sale online, much cheaper.
