Now working towards my mum moving to a retirement flat near us. All the ones she is looking at have showers only, but she will definitely need a bath, she'd be miserable without one. I'd be keen to install one she can use even when less mobile than she currently is - any top tips?

I saw this shower/bath and liked it a lot - wondered if anyone had anything similar.

Google is your friend here and there is a previous Mumsnet thread I think. My research made me decide that these were incredibly expensive and impractical. Apparently they take an age to drain and leave the bather feeling cold waiting for them to drain sufficiently for the door to open. I also saw several for sale on ebay which confimed the reviews...

DH bought and installed a bath seat for MIL, who won't use a shower. It fits on a conventional bath. The seat swivels so she can sit on it, then using a very simple keypad, there is a button to lower it and a button to raise it up again. The keypad detaches for occasional recharging.

MIL has carers in, and only one of them can get her to have a bath at all, but that's another thread altogether!

Might be this one, or one very similar.
