Shoes when I'm residential care

Hi all

I hope you don't mind me asking on this board. I'm looking at launching a mobile shoe measuring/fitting/sales service. Aimed at people in residential care who don't get out to buy their own shoes. Checking overall foot health, the current fit of shoe and slipper; and recommending new shoes or slippers as appropriate.

Is this a service you would be happy to use for your loved ones. How do you buy shoes for them currently?

Any advice you can't give me would be much appreciated. TIA

I think Cosyfeet would be your competitor, I have used them for a housebound woman and we managed to guess the size ok from their guidelines and previous shoes, but she would have loved a visiting service with choices

Perhaps you could bring an iPad to show different colours of the same style?

You could do a little video, like they do on the shopping channels, for each type. I think it would be charming and some customers would love it.

Dm’s feet swell up and are different sizes_ but she still would love nice looking shoes. So advice/ adaptation ie inserts etc so she could wear nicer shoes would be much appreciated! I think it’s a greatidea. Contact care agencies as well, for referrals.

Anything that breaks up the monotony of living in a care home would be welcomed.

My sister's home did have a podiatrist visit very irregularly, and if she was out/being bathed/had visitors she would miss out.

Sounds like it could be useful to people but I would wonder how much income you could realistically expect from this if you could do visits with no payment.
