Riser recliner chair recommendations

I'm looking for recommendations for a riser recliner chair for my Dad who is currently severely immobilised with osteo-arthritis and awaiting knee replacement surgery. It needs to be a fabric covered type, not leather or fake leather. He's a reasonably big guy at around 6ft and 16stones.
Any tips on how to choose, what type to buy and where from please?
And specifically, is a dual motor necessary or will a single do?

This is the one my DM has. It's the Celebrity Westbury. It comes in different sizes. DM got the standard size despite being around 17 stone. However after she had her stroke, the OT said she needed to be able to have her feet flat in the floor when the seat is in the sitting position, so she could do her exercises properly (unfortunately the seats a bit high for that). She is only 5ft3in. If your dads 6ft then that wouldn't be a problem.

I would recommend the dual motor so your dad can adjust the seat completely to make himself comfortable.

Sorry didn't answer all your questions. DM went to a local furniture showroom to try the chairs and ordered from there. She wouldn't be able to do that now because of the stroke.

I would agree with above. Best chairs are dual motor as they give you more flexibility with positioning. Most companies selling chairs will be happy to measure your dad and order a chair that is the right size for him. Chose a reputable company who specialise in equipment for people less able. They will sometimes bring a range of chairs to the house to try if your dad would struggle to get to the showroom. If finances are tight, riser recliners are often sold second hand but then it is more difficult to get exactly the right size. If you think their may be nights he choses to sleep in it rather than get to bed, it is worth spending a bit more and getting one that goes fairly flat, but bed is always better.
