Have you tried British heart foundation shops? Or your locsl hospice shop?

Agree, look up your charity shop of choice. Many will collect donations.

Hillyhilly - we're about to start doing this with my mum's house. She's 91 and now in a care home with dementia. It's horrible thinking about dismantling someone's home while they are still alive - and feels very underhand. I guess we'll give a lot of stuff to charity shops and furniture to the BHF (although I know from experience that they are quite particular about what they will take).

Our main concern is what to do with more personal stuff - clothes, ornaments etc. No space in the room in her care home but not stuff we feel we can dispose of.
