Any good liquid protein supplements out there?

My mother's protein levels are very low. I am spoonfeeding her a protein shake, 55g, from Holland and Barrett. Is there anything that isn't 500ml that could give a high amount of protein for less effort, does anyone know?

Ensure has less protein by volume than your current product. Perhaps Fresubin 2kcal? 40g of protein per 400mls/800kcals but more importantly also complete for vitamins and trace elements in that volume.Very palatable and can be prescribed by GP.

It would be cheaper to make your own by adding full cream milk to milk powder. Then you can buy flavouring syrups in the supermarket and add that if she likes it. On prescription there's Ensure plus, fortisip, Fresubin etc as others have already mentioned. Some GPs may be a little precious about prescribing because there have been drives by PCTs to reduce expenditure and wastage.
Why are her protein levels low, if I may ask? WHat is her weight like? Is she underweight? If so she also needs calories. Good luck.

Yes, she is underweight, and had a tube down her throat to see why her protein levels are low eg coeliacs and so on. Will give those a go, thanks.
