Rock and roll subject I know, but a bloomin miracle has occured, and my parents have finally agreed that they need one .
They would like one that can be folded/taken apart to go in the car boot, and although theres a great shop near me that sells a big range, I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the subject

Just a few thoughts as my MIL has recently purchased a scooter.

Worth checking weight (can they lift in and out of boot?)
Do they have the dexterity to fold/take apart and lift in and out of boot?
My MIL finds 3 wheeler better as more footroom.
Probably cheaper to buy online once you have found the right one for them in shops (again MIL saved £800 doing this).
Where will they store and charge it?
Do they really need one each?

..will keep thinking!

Thank you for the info. Well, they have decided on one they like from the brochure, and I will take mum to test drive it next weekend.

They could really do with one each, but one thing at a time eh ? I feel like in some ways I have made a lot of progress with them in the last two weeks, and don't want to push my luck Smile

it is worth thinking what they will be using it for...3 wheelers are less stable than 4...they are fine in eg shopping centres but they are often rubbish outside that very flat terrain...they tend to tip/feel very unstable eg on pavements as they dip going past drives...they are also less steady climbing even low kerbs of pavements

if they have difficulty with lifting, it is possible to get a telescopic hoist to lift the scooter into a car boot, without dismantling it completely

The one they like is 4 wheel - but the shop has a varied terrain test track, so will be able to check.

Dad can lift with no problem, so its not an issue on that
