Hi, My daughter is about to leave the nursery building at school. All the children have been there since they were two. The parents are talking about a joint present for the teachers and the nursery. Someone sugested a pop up gazebo, another sugested wooden mushrooms for the gardens, with the names of the children on them.
I couldn't really think of anything. There are 9 children in the class and it's a girls school. If you have any ideas I'd be greatful.

I would have liked annual membership of national trust or voucher to go and do something. Depends on the teacher. I would not have room for 9 mushrooms in my very small yard garden. My parasol covers the whole area so no to a gazebo too. Why don't you ask another member of staff who knows the teacher better?

I think they were thinking of a present to all the nursary staff. The grounds are huge, so there's no problem with space.
The national trust membership sounds great though. We've just signed up actually.

I personally think that a present to the nursery, isn't that personal, and it isn't really for the teachers. I did think about one of those big garden connect 4 games or something.
The membership does sound so much better though. I'll sugest it to them.

When DS left nursery we got all the children to draw a picture, the adults all wrote a "thank you" note and one of the parents compiled them into a scrapbook.

not the sort of thing you were looking for I know, but obviously much more personal.

That does sound lovely. I love the idea of something personal.

Teacher's ruin maybe? Namely a large bottle of gin!

Could do, she'll probubly be thankful of it after a whole year with my daughter and her mad lively friends.
