Kingston/new malden schools

Hello,

we have been considering moving to Kingston/New malden area for our DD's (3 years old) school.
We liked Coombe Hill & Burlington but the houses we liked are not in Kingston but in Merton.
Could anyone let me know if we can still apply for Burlington or any schools in Kingston without any disadvantage even if we live in Merton?

Agree with MintHumbug- call the schools. They are very close to Merton border, but are oversubscribed.
There are good schools in Merton in the West WWimbledon/Raynes Park area- St Matthews, Hollymount, West Wimbledon for instance.

These schools all have really small catchment areas. Motspur Park which is Merton near these schools has become too far away from any school this year people are getting offered places in lower morden.

I would recommend moving to New Malden not just in Merton where i think you mean. Hours prices are better in Merton but in NM all the primary schools are good, you can walk to the shops leisure centre and activites children like to do. Also Kingston has much better secondary schools than Merton.

Thank you, mummy2oandh.

Could anyoone tell us if there are any streets or areas famous for anti social behavior or crimes in New Malden, Norbiton and North Kingston?

Cambridge estate is quite notorious but we're all generally quite nice in Kingston

Hi, I started off calling the schools but then found that if you call Kingston council they will send you a booklet which tells you the exact home to school distance which children have got in on over the past three years, for every school in the borough (except church schools). It's also on their website.
